I inherited this Louis Vuitton bag in a business deal today…  because I don’t know much about where it came from I also don’t know much about whether it’s real or fake.  At first glance I thought it was fake, but it is exceeding my expectations every time I look at it.  Please let me know what you think—- I would love any and all input!  Pictures are attached.

I consider myself a true fashionista and usually am a pro at spotting these things, but this one seems just too good to be a fake.   All of the buckles/brads/zippers appear to be gold plated and LV or Louis Vuitton appears to be on EVERYTHING.  (all zippers, brads, etc).    The monogram is uniform and uninterrupted and even.   It’s not backwards or upside down.  The stitching is yellow and the leather seems really good.  The inside is some type of suede.    Louis Vuitton stamp visible on the inside pocket as well as on the outside on both sides at bottom.       

If this is fake though- please tell me so I don’t sell it to someone and take advantage of them!  I’d love to hear what y’all think!

is it proftable to work for examiner.com? Or is just for concections?

If you stick with it, it can be.  My first blog post earned me $2.38,  and it took me only 20-30 minutes to write.   A lot of people read it however.  If you don’t know a lot of people or aren’t going to write a lot- I wouldn’t waste your time.  If people will read it and you will write it at least 2-3 times a week, it can be very lucrative.   If you sign up/refer people though- you can earn $50 off of each person you refer (pick me if you DO sign up ;)) — so THAT can be very profitable very quickly.

True Fashionista Now: Tiffany Amber Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

I don’t typically reblog but I had to do this one—- this TIffany Amber is one to watch!  I love the blue maxi-dress and particularly like the lavender lingerie-type dress (reminds me again of Mila Kunis at the Oscars).    Love these!

What I wore:  Mardi Gras Costume # 2 - Red Riding Hood

As much as I love making / assembling my own Mardi Gras costumes,  I was doing 3-4 different costumes this year so there came a point where I was just sick of doing it.    But, I remembered the Red Riding Hood movie is coming out, saw a costume at Party City for $30, and the rest is history!

Costume:  Party City, $29.99

Tights:  Wal-Mart (believe it or not!)  by George,  $4.99

Makeup:  Urban Decay, with red stick-on rhinestones from Michael’s.

Oh, and by the way— the bangs are real, but the curls— totally fake hair pieces!   Look at a shot of me from the back to see how real they look!   I have 2 of these pieces in, you can buy them at Claire’s for $10 a PIECE!

What I wore:  Mardi Gras Costume -  Hojukaru girl

Who doesn’t love Tokyo fashion?  That’s why when I realized I needed several Mardi Gras costumes— I picked Tokyo street fashion (a la Gwen Stefani’s Hojukaru girls)  as the perfect thing!   And let me tell you, I really stood out and caught so much!

Top (Neon Heart)  - Forever 21  $12.80

Top - Green Striped Tee -  It’s Banana Republic but I got at a Thrift Store for $2.80

Sweatshirt -  Neon pink / cream striped - Forever 21  $11.80

Sweatshirt - Pink polka dots -  $2.80  at Thrift Store (in kids section)

Skirt -  Thrift Store in Kids Section - $2.80 (originally from Target, still tags on it!)

Tights -  Accent Annex, a local store here in New Orleans,  $5.99

Shoes - my own Walmart sneakers!

Wig -  the best value of them all!  Party City,  $6.99!  In the St. Patty’s Day aisle

Barrettes - Walmart / Dollar Store, in the little kids section — 20 for $1.00!

Eyes —  Urban Decay eyeshadow (Sephora), Purple and Pink used as eyeliner,  and gemstones from Michael’s Crafts!

Quick Lipstick trick So, a friend of mine tonight confessed to me that she was at a Mardi Gras parade and forgot her makeup bag— so she ran inside to the closest building she could find (her office) and looked in her desk for makeup she may have left there.  She didn’t find any makeup, but what she found was a RED SHARPIE— which she used to color in her lips!   She also used a black one as eyeliner! According to her,  the color was perfect, had just the right amount of shine, made her lips look amazing all day— and didn’t come off for spit, sweat, drink, or kisses—- but it came off the next day in the shower!   Insane! Any of you ever tried this?   I will try it soon and post the results!

Nicole Kidman in Dior - 2011 Academy Awards. Am I the only person who hated this dress?  I thought it was a horrible color on her,  continued with the Geisha trend,  the rhinestones reminded me of a prom dress gone wrong,  it was terribly unflattering in shape from the waist down, and the opening to show the inside of her thighs and red heels, was just gag.  She should have went with metallic, personally.   But, she should have went with another dress, period!

And, to all of you haters about her hair- it’s a well known fact among hairstylists that “pregnant hair”  is strong and powerful and resists even the strongest of chemicals, so it’s usually futile to even attempt styling it.   She looked radiant. Great color, great style, and beautiful on our girl Natalie!

Oscars Look for Less #2

If you read my previous posts you know that I wasn’t thrilled with Jennifer Lawrence’s Oscar dress.  She looked beautiful and it looked beautiful on her, but I thought the Calvin Klein number was far too casual for the biggest night of the year, and potentially biggest night of her entire career.  It was a dress that Rachel Green would have worn on Friends on a date!

But, it WAS a great dress, so I’ve found you a look-a-like for less:  from ModCloth, this dress is called “Knot It” and retails for $47.99.  Make sure when you go to ModCloth (www.modcloth.com) to look at the pictures of the back— it’s where the dress got it’s name!
